Model #400 - Classic Civil War era D-Guard Bowie.  This Bowie is a real handfull.  It sports an 11"  tempered, '01' high carbon tool steel blade with I*XL pattern file work on the spine and a long false edge.  The contoured, D-guard (or knuckle guard) was also forged from '01' tool steel.  The guard, blade and pommel are mirror polished.  The contoured handle is full tang construction and has a solid brass pommel.  The handle scales are beautiful desert Ironwood secured by 3 mosaic pins.  Superb fit and finish.  Believe it or not, the balance point on this Bowie is just in front of the guard where it meets the ricasso which makes this hefty knife feel light in your hand---the way it should.  Price for similar piece:  $1,050.
